• As Co-Owner of Laxmi Villa (Saran), I manage a North-Indian hospitality business while using it as a living lab for labour economics. From seasonal labour flows to trust-based work networks, the hotel gives me hands-on data and field insights that no textbook can offer. This experience shapes my work on labour fluidity, precarity, and small-town economic models.

• Worked on backend services for edtech product used by upper-middle-class students and families across India. Built APIs, data flows, and engagement pipelines — but the real learning was understanding how people make decisions when it comes to education.
• Key observations I still carry today:
• Consistency is universal friction — even well-resourced students struggle with motivation, signalling that behaviour matters as much as resources.
• Family drives decisions — parents make choices, students follow. Economic decisions are rarely individual; they’re household negotiations.
• Aspirations are socially shaped — peers and comparison influence goals more than aptitude.
• Trust > affordability — even affluent households hesitate without clarity and confidence.
• Completion rates reveal truth — progress isn’t a content problem; it’s a behaviour and bandwidth problem.
• Simplicity wins — users prefer guided paths over too many choices.
• These insights have become foundational to my work at Lohiya.org, where I study labour behaviour from the ground up — how workers navigate precarity, dependents, aspirations, and opportunity. My time in edtech taught me that behavioural economics sits underneath every human system, whether it’s students choosing courses or workers choosing livelihoods.
