Itson, inc.

Senior Web Architect

Jun 2013Jun 2018 · 5 yrs

  • I have worked here as a software engineer/web architect for about five years. When I started, we brought our e-commerce website in-house from a contracting company. It was in Drupal. We used to spend two days a week with 14 people in a room deploying to QA and Prod environments. I automated the entire process in the first few months which has saved the company over $14 million in just payroll over the last five years.
  • I have since automated and architected and coded many new products and features in the company saving millions more. Some projects I have worked on include a company-wide localization framework used in iOS, Android, and the web to building out a feature intensive and scalable customer support portal. I have built json serialized and protobuf restful APIs, build systems, social logins, data tables, user roles and permissions, notifications, testing frameworks, site security and much more. We use Yii 2.0 framework on Apache and Nginx and AngularJS with a Java layer and Redis and Cassandra in the backend.
  • I have also helped lead and navigate the team successfully through various rough times in the company by leading large but productive meetings to resolve complex issues and turn them into actionable items and deliver them in due time.
  • My prior experience before ItsOn as a web developer included Wordpress, CakePHP, Jquery, MySQL and Vertica databases, and entrepreneurship.

  • Whackpedia is a place where you can share your ideas, your stories, your work and let other people revise and combine their work and thoughts with it etc. Unlike Wikipedia its objective is not to be an encyclopedia but to be a culmination of great ideas and work. It's different from blogging because there is a much higher level of interaction and collaboration with other people involved in this culmination.
