• The Art Department cultivates YouTube's visual identity. We collaborate with product, UX, engineering, and marketing to bring the YouTube brand to life across 20 products and numerous programs. Our flexible and multifaceted identity design system serves 3 billion monthly active users, establishing YouTube as the world's largest video and music streaming service.
• I led key initiatives - updated YouTube’s logo and iconography, expanded our proprietary font, and defined the UI color palette and color sampling algorithm. Improved accessibility at every step.
• Built YouTube Standards, a visually immersive website showcasing the brand via interactive tools and guidelines. As both editor-in-chief and tech lead for 5 years, I managed an interdisciplinary team of designers, UX engineers, and writers.

• Collaborated with investigative reporters, data journalists, and web designers to build interactive digital experiences for in-depth stories. Used public data to investigate government systems, social issues, and current events in San Francisco.

• Joined a research team that partnered with Google products to develop custom data visualizations. I designed a new Google Forms responses dashboard with interactive charts and dynamic data slicing. I also built text visualization modules for the Google Charts library and contributed to Google's data visualization design system.

• Pearl Hacks provides mentorship and community of female students in creative and technical disciplines. I led all logistics for the first two years of the event - workshops, food, buses, flights, mentors, volunteers, etc. I also created the original brand identity, built the website, and managed $80,000/year in sponsorship funds. We hosted 250 students at the first event, in 2014. The second year it grew to 400 students from 20+ universities and 10 high schools. More recently, in 2021 the annual event hosted students from 30+ countries.

• Developed a prototype showcasing how Windows could highlight personal identity and improve family collaboration. The internship was designed to provide experience across visual design, program management, and software development.

• LEAF is a nonprofit music, arts, and culture organization. Their festivals raise money for music and art education in communities where access is limited. I managed their 40-page website, with a focus on streamlining information architecture and modernizing visual design. I also designed pamphlets, donor thank-you cards, and other print artifacts.
