About

Funmi is an experienced Social Entrepreneur and Social Worker with real-life hands-on experience in the not-for-profit arena. With almost 20 years’ global experience in the business sphere spanning banking, trading and SMEs, she is an astute, empathetic and reliable leader. Expatriation and travels globally have shaped her broad worldview and forged a capacity to solve problems using a diversity of experiential lenses. As an impact-oriented leader and social entrepreneur, she has served on the boards and platforms of diverse charities and non-profit organizations. She founded Balm of Joy (Humanitarian) foundatio (for less-privileged school children) and FTAM, Funmi Tayo-Ajimoko (Global Evangelical) Ministry, (a global missions work in Christ Jesus according to James 1:27) both privately funded not-for-profit faith-based organizations which headquartered in Ghana when she resided in Accra with her husband and children. The depth of lack and degree of deprivation around her immediate environment in particular and the African continent in general gnawed at the very fabric of her heart strings. Being a Christian woman of faith and a believer in the gospel of Christ she felt compelled to answer the clarion call in Isaiah 1:17 to use her training and talents in repairing the breech and providing a joy balm to the world. She is passionate about social entrepreneurship and social work because it creates the opportunity to interact with people of different backgrounds with different personalities. The issues she cares deeply about and areas of interest are: Mental health; Children’s welfare; Domestic Violence; Self-Esteem & Self-Confidence; Health and well-being of seniors; Family Life, and; Faith. She is innovative, driven and focused on delivery and believes in leaving a positive impact in every area and people she touches.
