  • On Hellboy, I shifted gears from my usual monsters and creatures to designing exuberant, fantasy-infused costumes. While my work on the film wasn’t exclusively costume-focused, it became a major part of my contribution.
  • From day one, the process was pure iteration and exploration. I was the sole costume concept artist working directly under the Costume Production Designer, answering only to her. My designs and ideas would often move straight to the Art Director and Film Director, sometimes daily, ensuring a fast, direct creative flow.
  • A typical brief might be a detailed mood board or sometimes just a single inspirational image. From there, I’d have 1–3 days to fully explore a costume concept, moving quickly but thoughtfully through each design pass.
  • Almost every character received at least one design pass from me, but the most extensive work was for Nimue, The Blood Queen, with around 15 unique costume designs. Her final look, an iconic red dress paired with a crown of thorns, was one of my personal highlights from the project and it made it onto the posters.
