Global digital leader with tech skills honed over 30 years working across the width of the global tech sector. Recognised for being instrumental in shaping internet. open source and AI policy. My 25 years of largely international legal and commercial experience, saw me building product and organisations advising across all aspects of tech - from operating systems to data centres and fintech, developed skills in digital commercialisation, legal governance, and strategic planning combined with personal expertise in open source software, underpin our organisational mission of UK leadership and global collaboration in open technology. Engaged at the bleeding edge of innovation I have helped to shape their legal frameworks. I've built on 25 as a lawyer with 6 as CEO of OpenUK leveraging unmatched digital and open source policy and commercial experience and deep expertise in open source primarily software but increasingly AI. Leading OpenUK my focus is on AI, software, hardware, data and standards that are open. We work on 3 pillars: community, legal & policy, and learning, we have secured the UK's position as a frontrunner in open technologies whilst collaborating globally. We have evolved into a world-leading Think Tank/ advocacy organisation on digital and AI openness and demonstrating a substantial contribution to the UK economy. Our strategic policy shaping, community building, and a world-leading recognition program - in its 6th year's demonstrated the UK's Europe-leading open source contributions. Advisory work includes: Not for proift Advisory Boards and Statutory Boards including UKRI's Exascale, The Cabinet Office Open Standards Board and Mojaloop Foundation. Enterprise Advisory currently spans open source metrics and analytics, database software, cybersecurity and agentic identity, and geospatial data. Previous roles include AI and an HR platforms. Primarily advising US-based start ups and scale ups, I've also worked with Irish and UK businesses. My global speaking primarily embraces delivering keynotes sharing insights on the transformative power of openness in digital environments and AI, strategically contextualising the conversation in a unique way bringing a policy perspective.
