• Alberta is one of the ten provinces of Canada. It is part of Western Canada and is one of the three prairie provinces. In my role with the Government of Alberta, I led projects on the implementation of A Plan for Alberta: ending Homelessness in 10 Years 2009-2019 and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) across the lifespan: Alberta’s FASD 10-year strategic plan 2007-2017.

• Performance monitoring of outputs and outcomes (Data Reporting): Performed data analysis using SPSS, Excel-Pivot tables, homeless database (HMIS) to produce monthly, quarterly and annual program outputs ad outcomes. Presented result of findings to staff at quarterly meetings to highlight key findings.
• Information System Management: Responsible for data entry and quality assurance to ensure data integrity for program data and data reporting for 8 programs.
• Training and knowledge management: Acted as a resource contact for the newly launched Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and provided training to staff.
• Achievement: Successfully transitioned and trained staff to using Microsoft Excel as a data entry and tracking tool to record client’s information. Also provided training and developed training manual on steps to data entry in Excel.

• Research and Proposal development: Actively participated in proposal development for Green Building Trades Training Program for low-income immigrants and Canadians.
• Developed questionnaires and conducted one-on-one interviews with past program participants to assess interest in green construction and environmental sustainability.
• Networking/presentations: Networked and presented information to potential stakeholders in green construction industry in Calgary.
• Communication and Meeting coordination: Organized and coordinated meetings and communications with stakeholders and green building trade project team. This included note taking and follow-up on key actions identified. Also provided logistical support for committee meetings and events.
• Identification of funding: Researched potential funding sources in Calgary currently supporting or interested in contributing to initiatives on climate change and environmental sustainability.
• Achievements: In the six months in this position, I presented a draft proposal and wrote a concise one-pager for funding request to the Government of Alberta. The program was funded to train low-income Albertans to employment as a mechanism for tackling poverty in the province.

• Actively contributed to proposal development for the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF) on gestational diabetes and project lead for implementation in Jamaica and Panama
