I build tools. Not products — tools. The kind that other developers build products with. Right now that means Bliss: a systems programming language with a custom runtime, compiler, package manager, and interpreter — built from scratch, solo. The type system is built around one idea: meaning is always explicit, never inferred. I started programming in the summer of 2015. Not from a course or a bootcamp — from a book. E. Balagurusamy's "Object-Oriented Programming with C++," because I thought it was about making game objects. I had limited internet access, so I downloaded Dev-C++ and just started writing. By 2020, I had unrestricted internet and taught myself web development. Did a few freelancing gigs — two of which actually paid — but they were enough to get me moving. By 2023–24, I had built a JavaScript web framework from scratch. In js-benchmark, it ranked second, ahead of SolidJS. In 2025, I came back to where it all started — C/C++ and low-level systems. I began Bliss with two intentions: go deep into systems programming and build something that actually pushes my limits. It has been the most satisfying project I've ever taken on. Bliss is currently in active development. The runtime is 70–80% complete. The lexer is working. The interpreter and compiler are in progress. 11 years of building. Always toward the metal.
