There is a common refrain in business that "recruiting isn’t rocket science." Having begun his career studying Aerospace Engineering before pivoting to Organizational Management, I can *technically* confirm this. However, after three decades in the talent space, I can also confirm that while the physics might be simpler, the human variables make it one of the most challenging things for an organization to get right. My perspective is built on a foundation of 20 years as an in-house practitioner and leader. I have helped tune the talent engines for large enterprises, including AT&T, Expedia, T-Mobile, and Waste Management, as well as high-growth SMBs like Clearwire and Foundation 9 Entertainment. This work was never theoretical; it was the high-stakes, day-to-day reality of building teams, navigating complex technology stacks, and refining recruitment operations from the inside out. For the past 10 years, I have pivoted that deep internal knowledge into a successful consulting career. I help organizations move past the "fluff" of modern HR trends to find practical solutions to complex talent challenges. Whether I am assessing team effectiveness and engagement, auditing talent acquisition functions, streamlining processes, upleveling assessment and selection capabilities, or helping recruiters operate as true advisors to the business, my focus remains the same: Does this actually work for my client or their people? I believe that people decisions are the most impactful choices an organization makes. So I founded Akamai Consulting and co-founded 10x Talent Advisors to ensure those choices are supported by strategies, processes, and tools that are as robust as they are realistic.
