About

My journey in the health care industry has been driven by a single vision – make the world a healthier place. I do this by championing innovative treatments, helping patients access the best care possible and leveraging technology to help us deliver to patients faster, all while striving to create and support teams that reflect the communities we serve. With three decades of experience in health care, I’ve held leadership positions at global, regional, country and functional levels. In the biopharmaceutical industry, my experience spans a variety of therapeutic areas, such as gastroenterology, neuroscience, plasma-derived therapies and rare diseases, as well as international market access, country and regional general management, marketing and emerging market development. As part of my transition to becoming the next CEO of Takeda in June 2026, I am serving as interim head of the Global Portfolio Division and continuing to deliver on our purpose of better health for people and a brighter future for the world. Outside of Takeda, I sit on the board of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) to help advance initiatives that drive innovation, expand access and support policies that are in the best interests of patients. I am proud to support the business and civic community in Massachusetts and in 2023, was part of Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey’s Economic Development Planning Council. I will continue to advise on ways to strengthen the Massachusetts research and innovation ecosystem by participating in the Governor’s DRIVE (Discovery, Research and Innovation for a Vibrant Economy) acceleration team. I also have the pleasure of serving on the Board of Trustees of the Boston Public Library, one of the most iconic and respected institutions in the city and am a proud member of the Council of Korean Americans.
