• At Zee5, working as Principle Architect on Video Engineering group, I am responsible for end to end video experience. My focus is encoding and generating best in class AV to provide immersive seamless AV experience to end user. I lead a team of 20 engineers and responsible for delivering critical projects from Video Engineering group. Following are some of the key activities I was involved
• Working on usage of AI solutioning on content processing pipeline for content moderation and various other use cases.
• Working with C level executives on defining roadmap of overall Zee5 product and technology group.
• Work very closely with with ISVs (like Ateme, Mongo, TATA et al) and cloud solution providers (like AWS, GCP, Microsoft) to implement projects and roadmap features
• Leading solutioning of migration of complete video engineering solution to GCP from AWS.
• Leading the solutioning of Zee5's in-house transcoder.
• Improved OTT Live experience on Zee5 significantly in terms of end user AV experience.
• Revamped the complete VOD transcoding chain to improve end user immersive AV experience significantly while reducing overall CDN cost by almost 20%. Introduced CMAF for VOD and many other transcoding fine tuning enabled this.
• Led the design and deployment effort to first live sport broadcast over Zee5. The AV quality was best in class and so to the latency.
• Led the effort to migrate Zee5 DRM key provider from BuyDRM to Nagra. This was a huge, and was achieved with almost no end user complaint.

• Synamedia is focused on improvising and securing the way end customer is entertained and informed through disruptive innovation in the space of Pay-tv industry.
• Designing and developing next generation cloud (AWS) based programmatic ad replacement technology.
• Designed and developed Just in time ABR packager for linear OTT data plane.
• Designed and implemented key component of streaming anti piracy solution.

• Implemented sample encryption schemes for several ABR protocols and content encoding types.
• Led the architecture of first ever ABR recording solution, enabling deployment of IP based solution with same end user feature set as it's satellite counterpart.
• Designed complete IP based metadata acquisition solution enabling reuse of maximum possible DVB infrastructure on STB.
• Prototyped end to end cloud DVR solution with minimal STB software. Channel change time and AV lag of this solution is best in class and being used for trial through different groups.
• Prototyped a system, which can process different user content format with minimal load on CPU. The mechanism is reused on multiple CISCO solutions.
• Designed streaming chain for first ever OTT solution on NDS/CISCO middleware, this mechanism is reused across all CISCO STB solutions.
• Devised a mechanism for identification of unused memory on driver space This increases life time of deployed boxes and makes systems with constrained RAM viable by addition of new features to them.
• Enabled deployment of first ever streaming to companion device solution (transcoding) for CISCO by collaborating with silicon vendors for bringing up the feature, defining HAL APIs and designing the STB
• changes. It is deployed by premier broadcasters across Europe and Asia.
