About

**Opinions are my own** I’m a builder who leads. I wrote my first code at 13, earned a BFA in Graphic Design, and have spent 15+ years doing both … building platforms and building the teams behind them. That BFA is one of my biggest advantages in technology. Not because I can push pixels, but because it trained me to think beyond engineering. I’ve worn the hats of project manager, SEO strategist, data analyst, and marketing technologist. I never siloed myself. That breadth means I lead with a cross-departmental lens … I understand the incentives, constraints, and language of every team at the table, not just engineering. Most senior technology leaders can only advocate for their own function. I can advocate for the whole system. Currently I lead Digital Engineering at Nike/Converse, owning the full engineering organization across 3 continents for converse.com. I inherited an underperforming team and transformed it into one that shipped at a 95% confidence rate. I built DevOps and quality engineering practices from the ground up. I introduced AI-first planning frameworks that eliminated 260 hours of overhead per team per quarter and presented those approaches across all Nike marketplaces as a model for AI integration within the SDLC. Before Nike I was the senior digital technology leader at Life is Good, owning everything from the e-commerce platform to marketing automation, CRM, data and analytics, and cloud infrastructure. We 2x’d revenue in 2 years. I compressed product time to market from 18 months to 14 days. I killed a $500K investment that would have delivered zero ROI. I build systems that eliminate entire categories of problems. I design composable architectures and define service boundaries. I develop engineers into leaders. And I stay hands on because the best engineering leaders never stop building. I write daily about what I call Builder’s Leadership … the practice of leading teams without losing your craft. If that resonates, connect with me.

  • 1. Led the reorganization of a 30-person engineering organization from a single undifferentiated team into 4 product verticals with dedicated squads, layered leadership across frontend, backend, QA, and scrum, and clear ownership boundaries, eliminating cross-team bottlenecks and enabling autonomous, high-velocity delivery
  • 2. Transformed an underperforming engineering organization into a high-velocity product delivery team delivering against commitments at a 95% confidence rate by leading with data, building operational playbooks, and creating a culture of accountability over optics across North America, Europe, and Asia
  • 3. Drive measurable gains in conversion rate, average order value, and site speed through coordinated execution across product verticals, feature-flagged progressive rollouts (10% → 100%), quarterly A/B testing cycles, and data-driven prioritization tied to business outcomes
  • 4. Built an AI-first quarterly planning framework that removes 260 hours of planning overhead per team per quarter, and established a persona-based AI squad model that embeds AI agents across the SDLC, reduces onboarding time, accelerates PR reviews, and generates automated velocity reporting
  • 5. Led engineering teams of up to 30 across 3 continents, increased FTE composition from 30% to 60%, and remain hands-on in architecture and critical implementations, including a custom React checkout that improved conversion
  • 6. Established technical decision frameworks for build vs. buy, technical debt ROI, and architecture tradeoffs; lead Salesforce partnership discussions on composable strategy and earned placement in Salesforce sales training materials as a customer advocate
