I returned to Shopify because of their shift to remote working (Digital by Design). I joined my old team on Growth, helping merchants get their stores set up more efficiently, and better understand the value of Shopify for them as emerging merchants.
I spent this time moving around a few 0 → 1 teams. We were actively looking for new opportunities to help merchants get set up on, and understand Shopify. I would explore new areas and validate whether we should invest further teams/resources into it. One of the big components we built during this time and took from ideation → market was a persistent guide that followed merchants as they onboarded to the tool, and helped them better understand what to do, how to do it well, and what to do next.

We were taking document and time management tools to market, to help accountants better communicate with their clients, and practices understand their internal efficiencies.
