About

Building India’s first integrated agri-input ecosystem. Co-founder & CEO of Gramophone, now part of Unnati — connecting manufacturers, retailers, and farmers through a shared technology, distribution, and financing backbone across one of India’s largest and most fragmented markets. India’s agri-input supply chain runs through 4–5 intermediaries between manufacturer and farmer, each adding cost with limited value. Nearly half of products sold at the farm gate are local or unbranded. Working capital cycles are among the slowest of any industry. Farmers face information asymmetry, unreliable product quality, and dependence on informal credit. What we’re building: Unnati is an integrated ecosystem — omnichannel distribution through a growing retailer network and direct farmer engagement (Gramophone), an own-brand portfolio with significantly stronger margins, AI-powered operational intelligence (demand forecasting, pricing, inventory optimisation), and embedded financial services. The result: dramatically faster working capital cycles, better unit economics, and a system where each participant — manufacturer, retailer, farmer — is better off inside the ecosystem than outside it. Where we’re headed: The agri-input market in India is ripe for consolidation. We’re pursuing both organic expansion and strategic inorganic growth across seeds, crop protection, biologicals, financial services, and farm technology — building a vertically integrated ecosystem at a scale that can meaningfully organise this market. Before Gramophone: IIT Kharagpur (Agricultural & Food Engineering) → John Deere → Frost & Sullivan → IIM Ahmedabad → Omnivore Partners → Aspada Investments → CropIn Technology. A decade spent understanding Indian agriculture from every angle — research, manufacturing, consulting, investing, and building.

Unnati

Co-Founder

Feb 2026Present · 3 mos · Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India · On-site

  • Unnati is an integrated agri-input ecosystem connecting manufacturers, retailers, and farmers through a shared technology, distribution, and financing backbone. The ecosystem serves a growing network of retailers and farmers across 10+ states, powered by an own-brand portfolio, AI-driven operational intelligence, and embedded financial services (Ora Finance).
  • As Co-founder, I work across strategic initiatives shaping Unnati’s next phase of growth — including capital strategy, building out the financial services vertical, and identifying opportunities for both organic expansion and strategic inorganic growth across the agri-input value chain.
  • The technology layer — demand forecasting, intelligent pricing, and supply chain optimisation — enables dramatically faster working capital cycles and stronger unit economics compared to traditional distribution models.
  • The vision: build a vertically integrated agri-input ecosystem spanning seeds, crop protection, biologicals, financial services, and farm technology — at a scale that can meaningfully organise one of India’s largest and most fragmented markets.

Gramophone.co.in

Cofounder and CEO

Apr 2016Present · 10 yrs 1 mo · Indore Area, India

  • Founded Gramophone to solve the information asymmetry that costs Indian farmers billions in avoidable input wastage every season. Built a tech-led agritech company combining crop intelligence, digital advisory, and agri-input commerce for smallholder farmers.
  • Scaled farmer engagement to 2M+ farmers across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and other states. Built India’s first crop-specific, geography-aware input recommendation engine. Established an own-brand portfolio with strong farmer adoption and significantly higher margins than third-party brands.
  • Raised funding from marquee investors including Info Edge, Asha Impact, Siana Capital, Z3 Partners and others. Gramophone merged with Unnati in 2026 to form India’s first integrated agri-input ecosystem — combining Gramophone’s farmer intelligence with Unnati’s distribution scale and fintech capabilities.
