It is a secular organization open to all persons regardless of race, color, creed, gender, or political preference. Rotary's best-known motto is "Service above Self".
• As a board and club member, I work with various committees and groups to advance the Rotary ideals in Alaska. Specifically focusing on service to others, advancing world understanding, goodwill, and peace through fellowship. I'm proud of my club and the work we do in Alaska and around the world. Our club projects have included everything from building local library rooms for teenagers, a planet walk to enhance our city, to drilling wells in Africa to provide clean water.

• Working as a Programmer / Analyst at CTG Alaska, I served as a project resource on several successful development projects for fortune 50 clients. Most notably one project which I served as lead developer and architect was nominated and received the BP Helios Award. The Helios Awards are BP's global recognition program. Existing since 2001, the awards are held annually to celebrate 'BP at its best' by identifying and recognizing BP people achieving outstanding success

• Introspect Software was a software development company that I founded out of high school. Several successful software products were created, most notably Mouse Odometer, a free mouse-tracking program that measures the distance your mouse has traveled on the screen. It has been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times, and mentioned on several occasions in many diverse media outlets, including on CNN ZDNet, Kim Commando radio show, Howard Stern, Maxim Magazine, and Scientific American. Mouse Odometer was re-branded in France as "Ultrameter" and built as a custom viral marketing platform for L'Oreal, Siemens, Volkswagen, and UBISoft. Although the projects were a "success", the traditional financial gauge of success would not agree. This company was my first entrepreneurial adventure, and a powerful learning opportunity on how to create and lead a start-up.
