Worked as a Backend Engineer. Developed consumer-facing features, recommendation systems, and new product lines. Part of the restaurant menu listing team. It's one of the core teams in Zomato. We serve the menu page of 0.35M restaurants to 30M monthly active users. Some of my work here-
Developed an item recommendation system that improved the platform's average order value (AOV) and impacted 30M monthly active users.
Decomposed monolith into two microservices and scaled them to 100% traffic. It reduced the menu API response time by ∼33%, saved tech infra cost, and improved developer productivity.
Developed a system to update nutritional information of the menu items via CSV. It reduced the manual work done by business partners and impacted the data upload of 0.3M restaurants
Led a team of two developers to modify the menu API structure. Impacting user experience on the platform.
