• Software engineer in the online data serving stack for Facebook, focussing on efficient access to the data. This stack comprises of caching systems (TAO, memcache) that serve billions of requests per second, indexing systems and storage systems (MySQL, ZippyDB) that come together to enable Facebook to build and operate its products seamlessly.
• My predominant focus has been on building, evolving and growing the adoption of CacheLib (www.cachelib.org) within and outside of Facebook. CacheLib is an open sourced, pluggable caching engine, powering over 70 production services at Facebook including several large scale caching services like the social graph cache, key value cache, CDN and storage caches at Facebook. In collaboration with academia and industry, CacheLib has been leading the front on enabling cache applications to seamlessly transition from using DRAM to SSDs, and there by improving their cost and power efficiency.
