About

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IN ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE REACHING OUT: Original content on my timeline is my own and not representative of my employer. At NVIDIA, I lead manage a line of products for Trustworthy AI along with my side hustle in Autonomous Vehicle Product Definition and Systems Engineering. One wheel changed the world and four wheels changed my life. It all began with a car my grandmother gave me for my first birthday. As a child, some of my earliest memories stem from the time I spent on the floor, creating and unclogging "traffic jams" on the floor (to my mom’s dismay) with Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars. I started practicing transportation engineering early as I moved with my dad as an Army Brat. I became an expert in what I loved: cars. Today, I still live, eat, and breathe cars. Dozens of Auto Shows, thousands of 1:64 collected vehicles, and two theses later, I am still passionate about arguably the greatest invention of the modern era: the automobile. I am a student of the industry and a licensed professional who both defines the product and brokers the conversation between engineering and the people that use it. Want to learn more about me? Virginia department of transportation

Interdisciplinary Engineer (Operations|Policy|Special Projects)

Jun 2014May 2016 · 1 yr 11 mos · Fairfax, Virginia and Richmond, Virginia

  • I learned how to run and navigate through one of the highest-performing, organized, and storied infrastructure businesses: the state department of transportation. I broke ground (literally), supervising the building of shoulders for alternative roadway management strategies and authoring the first-of-its-kind research activity to experiment with augmented, purple striping on 95/495 Express Lanes entrance ramps (and you can still see it today!)
  • I know policy and can be trusted to work with executive leadership through tight deadlines; I was selected to direct input for technical, financial, legal, and operational reviews of more than 200 pieces of proposed legislation in repeated 24 hour sprints. I serve as the Policy Division's executive leadership liaison during the General Assembly, working directly with congressional partners, agency C-Suite Executives, and state subject matter experts.
  • Speaking of time-sensitive deadlines, I co-developed a plan to deploy 3,000+ uninterrupted power supplies to signals in Hampton Roads that was used for Hurricane Joaquin. I assembled the team, chaired the effort to develop the strategy, and delivered a business case that ultimately worked.
  • I know how to own, lead, and pool members from different areas of a 7000+ person agency together, from the staff engineer to executive leadership. When our District Engineer needed someone to quarterback a politically-sensitive, high-level data analysis, I rocked it. I developed and published an Alternative Materials Selection & Approval Process Study to defend the agency's policy and praxis to not only the District Engineer, but to her manager's manager and to the public officials she is responsible to.
