• Asia Funds Correspondent, with main focus on regional hedge funds industry. Based in Asia’s hedge fund centre, Hong Kong, I tracked fund managers from Singapore to Japan to spot industry trends and how investors were allocating capital.
• My work involved being in constant touch with investors, hedge funds and service providers. My main focus area included fund performance, new launches, investment strategies and qualitative aspects such as what’s going on within a hedge fund.
• My role was expanded from “Asia hedge fund correspondent” to “funds correspondent” in 2013 to also write about star portfolio managers as well as the long only absolute return funds industry that’s increasingly competing with regional hedge funds for capital flows into Asia.
