Software engineering lead with 11+ years of hands on experience of building high-throughput large scale distributed backend systems with focus on reliability. In the past few years I have been involved in designing such cloud infrastructure systems ground-up or refactoring existing systems to improve them operationally or their functional feature-set. This AWS service had to support a peak scale of 65M QPS. Though I enjoy the most in building back-end infrastructure for other engineers to use, earlier in my career, I had also operated in product teams as technical lead focusing on solving business problems leveraging backend infrastructure (primarily AWS cloud). These included initiatives like building the back-end engine to power lifecycle management of rental items for amazon.com, leading a team of 7+ engineers. Most of my experience has been using Java, C++ and python but I have learnt new languages in the past and applied it depending on the justification of using it to solve the problem concerned.
