I am an operations professional with 6 years of experience across supply chain, manufacturing, and quality. My experience encompasses my work in the heavy machinery industry (compressors), automotive industry (transmissions), and semiconductor/electronics industry (HDD & Flash storage). In all of my experiences I started from a relatively beginner position and ended up becoming the subject matter expert in my domain; ultimately resulting in being offered a job, a promotion, or an award. Currently I am working in the tech industry focusing on one of the most critical and challenging commodities of our time, the storage technology. As a part of the only company present in both the HDD and Flash segments, I have been fortunate to learn about the operations of two vastly different technologies and organizations. In my earlier profile I was part of the supply chain optimization team; and we released multiple modules of the central planning system which comprised of the end-to-end (build-request to build-commit) planning for the complete HDD business segment. We managed, sustained, and transitioned the demand, supply, and capacity planning of all the finished goods, sub-assemblies, buy items, sub-contractor components, and make items. We released a weekly demand signal and production plan through rigorous analysis and many cross-functional interlocks. In my current profile I work closely with sales, pricing, business operations, marketing, and supply planning to release monthly revenue forecast and operational demand for global retail. This exposes me to the true commoditization of flash products as we deal directly with the market situation and customer sentiment. Its a challenge to develop systems and tools robust enough to withstand constant market volatility. I am passionate about designing business processes, systems, and policies to affect seamless data flow and resolve operations issues permanently.
