About

https://www.artstation.com/joshforeman I’ve been doing design, level design and art for 20-something years in almost every capacity. I’ve learned a lot of hard lessons over the years about how communication is the central pillar that every successful project requires. I love the challenge of discovering consensus in a team and articulating it in a way that everyone is on board with. Then the continual process of updating as things inevitably change. I’ve learned not to shrink from problems, not to flinch when roadblocks are hit, and I don’t lose spirit when everything is on fire three months before ship. I love designing with player experience as a foundation, and find that sticking to that foundation helps tremendously when snags happen, tools break, or systems don’t come through. I also love teaching design. I’ve done so on a couple YouTube channels (Extra Play & Playframe), a class at DigiPen, on Gamasutra as well as on my own YouTube channel Additionally I started Breath Of Life Development where I've been creating art and design tutorials as well as collaborating on a book series. (I do the art and world design while my co-author does most of the story development) My goal at this point in my life is to leverage my decades of experience and skills to push the medium of videogames into maturity.
