Matt Trevathan — CEO
I've spent 20+ years building things that didn't exist yet,and filing the patents to prove it. I have 271 patents in AI, cloud computing, mobile, IoT, grid infrastructure, security, and fintech. Most of them from a decade at IBM where I was Chief Architect for Mobile Solutions and my job was essentially: figure out what's next, build it, patent it, ship it. At IBM, I built a Myers-Briggs personality-based content delivery system before "personalization" was a product category. I designed GPS-driven multimedia delivery, cloud storage deduplication architectures, and smart grid fault isolation systems. I filed patents on things that became industry standards years later. My team's IP portfolio became a defensive war chest, not built to sue, built to protect the freedom to keep innovating. After IBM, I led the IoT and emerging technology team at Kony (now Temenos), where I shaped how mobile and IoT converge in the real world. I built real-time preview systems for mobile development, wrote for IoT World Today, and spent seven years at the intersection of devices, data, and the physical world. Then I built CitizenTrader, a trading platform that used market sentiment analysis and dynamic risk profiling to give everyday investors institutional-grade tools. Now I'm SVP of Architecture and Technology at Nymbus, where I'm building the AI infrastructure for cloud banking. Banking is one of the most regulated, security-sensitive industries on the planet, and it's about to be transformed by AI. My job is to make sure that transformation is built on real engineering, not hype. That means production-grade AI systems with governance, security, and compliance baked in from day one. I think about AI the way I think about every technology I've worked with: what can we build that makes the next thing possible? I'm like 3M, I don't build the products you build. I build the products you build better. I run innovation labs. I mentor engineers. I believe the best way to retain great developers is to give them problems worth solving. And I believe that the gap between "AI strategy" and "AI in production" is where most companies get stuck, and where I do my best work. If you're building AI in regulated industries, thinking about IP strategy, or just want to talk about what's actually possible vs. what's just a demo, let's connect. https://patents.google.com/?inventor=Matthew+Trevathan
