  • Within the Alexa Voice and Advanced Shopping team, I drove the tech charter for building customer engagement capabilities for Alexa Shopping customers, focusing on personalized and contextual recommendations. As the tech lead for a team of 10+ engineers, I architected a sophisticated recommendations and ranking system. This project became a major success and evolved into a multi-year charter for the team. I collaborated with and influenced 3 teams, both within and x-org, to align business outcomes. This included leading collaboration with the Alexa Shopping Marketing team on "personalized engagement" use cases, leveraging the technology owned by my team while driving x-functional business goals and identifying key opportunities.
  • Before that, I architected and launched a scalable deals personalization system, which included 3 iterations of a random forest ML-based personalization model for Alexa users. This technology led to a 2x improvement in customer engagement. I also mentored 4 engineers for the implementation. As sole inventor, I earned a patent for developing a meta-ranking technology that integrates disparate machine learning models.
  • Earlier, I was part of the Identity Services team, where I owned multiple business-critical Authentication and Authorization services. I single-handedly migrated a business-critical system handling over 1MM QPS from Oracleto a NoSQL backend with zero customer downtime or impact. This work resulted in significant $ savings for the organization. I received 2 awards during my tenure w/ the Identity Team:
  • 1/Identity Rockstar Award (2015) – For demonstrating "Customer Obsession & Deliver Results" by successfully migrating the 1MM+ QPS service from Oracle to NoSQL with zero downtime.
  • 2/Identity Rockstar Award (2016) – For demonstrating "Dive Deep and Deliver Results" by proposing and implementing an innovative architectural redesign of the critical authorization platform, significantly enhancing scalability and reducing latency.

  • This was a brief 10 month stint with the company. I worked on RTL manipulation at code-level, and built technologies like RTL tokenization, technology mapping, clock gating etc.
  • Spyglass is Electronic Design Automation tool which delivers Early design closure using RTL analysis and thus eliminating downstream design problems and increasing the efficiency of design engineers. As part of RTL Modification Engine(RME) team, I developed the code level manipulation engine for directly adding/removing components from the RTL Verilog/VHDL design based on certain user inputs. RME is used by products like Spyglass Power Reduction and Gensys to re-structure the RTL. Also worked on RTL power reduction using clock gating and technology mapping.
  • Programming languages used: C++ and Perl

  • # Exploration and setup of AWS cloud services– EC2, S3, RDS, taking snapshots of images and
  • restoring instances from snapshots.
  • # Implementation of client logging for Android application using the given libraries.
  • # Modified existing internal web tools for input validation, pagination support and UI enhancement.
  • # Built a script component to create code obfuscated Android application package using Proguard.
