• Main focus on this Greenfield project start up for myself was Admin, Camp, Logistics and Operational Start up.
• The Montepuez ruby deposit is located in the northeast of Mozambique in the Cabo Delgado province. Covering approximately 33,600 hectares, it is believed to be the most significant recently discovered ruby deposit in the world.

• Contracted to ENI East Africa as a Security Coxswain and rose up to the level of Team Leader, within various functions during an exploration phase, ranging from oil and gas drilling, seismic, geotechnical, oceanic, meteorological and environmental surveys to onshore interests and tasking’s. We operate with various high profile contractors and local government agencies and Naval assets in support of the ongoing project.
• Teams consist of 2 or 4 expatriates, mentoring and guiding 2-6 Portuguese speaking Mozambique Marines carrying small arms as part of a graduated use of force approach to our Counter Piracy role. Part of my position includes but is not limited to liaising with vessel Master and crew, implement existing standard operating procedures and best management practice guidelines by tailoring it to relevant operation and vessel layout, conduct chase craft operations, manage and advise during incidents and emergencies, liaise with other operations neighbouring ENI concession area in order to collaborate defensive posture in the wider area.
• Separate to above mentioned I have been the on call medic/first aider on board some of the vessels, conducting triage, treatment and casualty evacuations when deemed necessary, in accordance with company Emergency step plan.

• Worked as part of an International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) management team to secure and safeguard our Iron Ore export port, served by a 240KM dedicated railway line, mined by a large scale site in the Northern provinces of Sierra Leone. Managed and administrated up to 130 local staff, ranging from Security Guards, Police Liaison Officers (Investigators) to Supervisors and Trainee Superintendents. Coordinated the safety and protection of up to 800 staff on site, a deep sea shipping estuary for bulk carriers, along with access points and production critical assets.
• Highly involved in building reporting structure which was adopted across entire project, to account for all aspects of security operation and its effectiveness. Maintained all administration, budgets, risk assessments and subsequent risk mitigation following from thorough collaborated investigations and audits. Furthermore advised and managed criminal investigations committed on site, by leading PLOs, working with local law enforcement and Sierra Leonean judicial systems.

• Managed and coordinated the port construction materials stores by implementing a stock accounting system, conducted inventory checks and day to day operational requirements within store, arrivals terminal and procurement department. Advised in the security aspects of stores after enormous amount of theft incidents. Lead teams of casual and permanent staff to optimum level of production whilst ensuring safe working environment and meeting demanding deadlines.

• I served in the British Airborne’s, 3rd Battalion the Parachute Regiment culminating in 6 years exemplary service, ending with a voluntary honourable discharge. My military service formed a foundation from which to build my career in private security. During my time I served on 2 tours of duty to Afghanistan, as part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) on Operation Herrick 8 (2008) and Herrick 13 (2010-2011).
• Whilst in the Army I excelled at various courses and promoted to Junior non-Commissioned officer, and was made a Communications (Signals) Detachment Commander. Within this role, during operations I managed telecoms effectiveness, serviceability and accountability of an equipment account estimated at a value of GBP £2.7 Million and safeguarded NATO Secret Level Cleared cryptographic material. During operational tasking’s I would plan, coordinate, report and manage communications and chains of information through company, battalion and group ranks. This was a highly kinetic tour of duty, and ended with much appraisal from hierarchy for initiative used and gold standard equipment accounts during hand over.
• Once returning from Herrick 13 I conducted communications training to signalers and new recruits joining the battalion as a subject matter expert in my field. During my time I was also tasked on the London 2012 Olympics as an access control team leader, conducted overseas training exercises in Kenya, and represented my regiment in rugby league and tug-of-war.
