• Core Member of Amazon Food team (food delivery business for Amazon).
• Designed the entire disbursements and accounting stack for Amazon Food, while learning about the platform, and educating tech and product team about the same. This enabled merchants (restaurants here) to get disbursed weekly for the orders that they served, and also all the accounting entries were moving to Amazon Ledger books for reconciliation.
• Designed Food item search for Amazon Food using ElasticSearch backend, so that customers should be able to search for food items and not just restaurant names (with the earlier experience of client side search).
• Worked with multiple payments teams in Amazon to enable multiple payment features for Amazon Food, like enabling UPI 1p and 3p, Amex cards, etc. Also, have worked on multiple payment compliance projects to keep payment instrument details secure.
• Worked on building an end to end feature - Customer should be able to add special instructions while placing food order. It involved multiple stacks of the POD like merchant and delivery experience and not just customer experience, because the instructions passed by customer need to be passed to merchant and other relevant parties. Lead this project completely, by doing the entire HLD, LLD, planning and estimation of the tasks, helping other SDEs on the project, and sending weekly emails to all the stakeholders involved for timely updates.
• Designed a solution for delivery ratings and reviews for Amazon Food . Had multiple discussions (given that we were the first digital client to have a delivery rating requirement) with an away team , and some other couple teams, discussing pros and cons of all approaches , and was able to finally reach to a conclusion.
