Worked on an Open Source project for Mars Colonization program to implement a Pathfinding algorithm using AI on the react application. The main motive was to help the rover find the shortest path while avoiding obstacles on the way using various pathfinding AI algorithms.
We made the web application using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React and Three.js. AI algorithms that we implemented: A*, IDA*, BFS, Jump Point Search, Orthogonal Search, Dijkstra. All these are extended to have Diagonal search and Bi-Directional search and have heuristics like Manhattan, Euclidean, Octile, Chebyshev. The user can place different kinds of walls, both weighted and unweighted. The application have the feature for clear wall, clear path as well. 3D models of the Mars and Spaceship are made using Three.js.
