  • 1. 2D Convolution Neural Networks based approach to replace existing LS based channel estimation and MMSE based equalization.The ML code in python was converted to CPP using oneDNN such that to use in a real time system with trained model weights and biases.
  • 2. Development of ORAN based Rx ethernet packet qualifiers and simulation testing environment with physical layer with simulated MAC and Radio Unit. This was used to test DL, UL, PRACH, SRS and FDX in numerology 1 and 0 for TDD and FDD.
  • 3. The above test framework was used to solve issues like downlink configuration context and IQ buffer increment for 8T8R, SRS and PRACH test case parsing , SRS and Uplink task completion race conditions, time based CRC threshold for delayed RU and generalized numerology and slot configuration along with scaling for 8T8R.
  • 4. Development of Delay Spread Algorithms using frequency domain correlation, 4 RB frequency domain sliding interpolation using sinc function and UL 256 QAM. These were tested in UT as well as in 3CC/ 1CC OTA setups.
  • 5. Dynamic cell deletion and addition feature design, implementation and testing. This design removed limitations of any particular cell index to be present, removal any number of cells , addition of any number of cells, removal of all cells and then addition, logging framework to restart once all cells deleted, any order cell addition, no need of upper limit of cells to be pre configured by MAC and memory optimisation.
  • 6. Baseline core mask and task splits for TDD mu1 100Mhz for a fully loaded 3CC FDX test case with SRS by profiling and using hyper threading. Also included is KW fixes, DPDK fixes.

  • 4. 5G LDPC and FFT: Worked on integrating XILINX IP to Uplink IQ sample generation. Bring up and integration HW VistaCreek and SW LDPC to TX/RX chain.
  • 5. 5G CA: Enhanced the GNode B capability from 1 cell to multi cell and carrier aggregation support with L2 simulation.
  • 6. 5G SA and SSB: 5G cell detection on SA setup. Rectification major issues related to fix point and floating point multiplication. Along with this adjustment for pre IFFT scaling factors for right power generation for SSB. These were done with FAPI interface in mind. Along with that powers were verified on Keysight HW and SW signal analyzers(VSA).
  • 7. 5G Dynamic Cell addition: Design of dynamic cell addition , cell deletion and cell reconfiguration features for NR L1 firmware code.
  • 8. 5G UCI over PUSCH: Finding the threshold for DTX detection of UCI over PUSCH from UE under different SNR, delay spread and doppler and communicating that to layer 2(L2).
  • 9. 5G Equalization Enhancements: Use of MATLAB perfect channel estimate to find the performance of equalization module and efficiency under varied channel conditions. Analysis of MMSE, and ZF algorithms for equalization.This also included RX antenna reduction.
