Anukriti Kumar — Product Engineer
Hi! I am a Ph.D. Student at the University of Washington, advised by Prof. Lucy Lu Wang in the Language Accessibility Research Lab (LARCH). My research lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a strong focus on applications in accessibility and healthcare. I embrace a human-centered approach in my work, employing a combination of research methods to gain valuable insights into the needs of end-users. My research also involves evaluating the real-world impact of proposed systems aimed at addressing accessibility challenges, particularly for individuals with vision impairments. Prior to my current academic journey, I served as a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow at Microsoft Research (MSR) India, collaborating with Dr. Saikat Guha and Tanuja Ganu in the Technology and Empowerment group. Primarily, I worked on developing systems to democratize access to printed content, with a specific emphasis on scientific publications, making them more accessible to individuals with diverse needs. I am currently seeking a research internship for Summer in the United States. If your research projects align with my interests and you have an available position, please reach out to me at anukumar@uw.edu/anu1999kriti@gmail.com.
