• In my role as a Software Engineering Intern at Uber, I worked on a project within the Storage team to enhance the Storage Portal. I led the development of a dedicated tab within the Storage Portal, offering detailed insights into Safe Database Deployment Practices (SafeDB) integration with different datastores. This involved implementing CLI commands for seamless interaction and deploying APIs to enable communication between the Storage Portal Frontend and CLI. I built an API to enable Service-Datastore remapping during new service onboarding and integrated it as a Storage CLI command. Additionally, I contributed to the improvement of the Storage Portal frontend, enhancing accessibility and ownership management.
• Impact: The impact of these improvements was significant, reducing ticket volumes of on-call issues by an estimated 40% and providing users with intuitive tools to debug and manage schemas independently.
• Challenges: Identifying essential data to expose for user understanding, handling unit tests effectively, testing the service module locally, setting up staging environments, adopting new tech stacks like React and GraphQL, and conducting thorough documentation and codebase analysis.
• This experience allowed me to gain proficiency in diverse technologies, hone my coding skills, and understand enterprise-level development workflows.

• During my internship as a UberSTAR intern at Uber, I worked on DataCentral, a platform aimed at providing users with a consolidated view of queries and related metadata across various Big Data engines. The project focused on empowering users with customizable alerts for specific query and application events, enhancing the ability to track and detect issues promptly. I contributed to building backend APIs in Data Observability, enabling event subscription and notifications. Additionally, I worked on extending the API to allow for subscribing to metrics and custom events, incorporating threshold settings. The frontend capabilities of DataCentral were also enhanced to support the subscription and notification API.
• Impact: The project aimed at improving user experience and reducing Mean Time To Detect issues by addressing unexpected states or metric values.
