Dr. Pitambar Behera is currently serving as an, Assistant Professor under Odisha Education Service (OES-I) OPSC, P.G. Department of English, Govt. Women's College, Sambalpur, Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha and has completed his Ph.D. from Centre for Linguistics, SLL & CS, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Dr. Behera has an industrial research experience of four years in Google Inc., Ministry of Information & Technology, Govt. of India, ezDI and and 6.5 years of teaching experience as a Linguist-Researcher and professor. He has published 42 research papers by Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Scopus, Bahri and other UGC-Care listed journals. To his credit, he also has contributed more than 50 research paper presentations, 52 participations, 28 session chairs and invited talks, 8 induction/orientation/RCs/FDPs, 6 awards, 2 interviews, 5 projects, a few review and program committee members of top-notch journals and conferences. He was a part of the development team of products and applications such as Google Assistant App (Hindi), English-Odia Machine Translation (Google Translate App), first POS tagsets, NERs, POS taggers, machine-readable corpora, online dictionaries for Sambalpuri and Odia. He has worked in 17 languages of India including German and English in linguistics. He has taken Sambalpuri and Odia to national and international fora like Linguistics Society of Nepal, Adam Mackwiecz University, Poland, Endangered and Lesser-known Languages Conference, Agra; European Language Resource Evaluation Conference, Iceland etc. He is associated with projects at Charles University, Prague; Ravenshaw University, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, University of Florence, Italy, ILCI, MCIT, Govt. of India and so on. He has been a review committee member of DCTE course module for RIE Bhopal, NCERT; course writer for Machine Translation, IGNOU and technical glossaries development for Indian languages under, CSTT, Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, Govt. of India. His research interests include the intersections of NLP, AI, linguistics, and literature.
