About

I started my journey as a social worker long before I was introduced to the profession, and my identity as a Latina informs how I show up in every space. The culmination of my experiences below have led me on a path toward serving my community as an advocate for survivors of violence, as a researcher rooted in the power of storytelling, and as an aspiring therapist focused on radical healing. As a Master of Social Work (MSW) candidate, I engage in meaningful community-based participatory research, with an emphasis on the implications of intimate partner violence within BIPOC communities and maternal mental health. My clinical work is rooted in decolonized practice that prioritizes my clients' agency and autonomy above all else. My end goal is to become a liberation-focused psychotherapist and adopt a variety of therapeutic modalities to further support folks with complex trauma. I hope continue to engage in research centered on decolonial approaches to intimate partner violence and contributing to research that will advance maternal and infant health outcomes for folks who have historically been excluded from high quality care.
