About

Edward Wustenhoff is a technology leader with a passion for moving businesses forward, in good times and bad times, by structuring the best teams, applying the right technologies or developing new solutions. He has worked with IT leaders, CIOs and CTOs across a spectrum of industries. Before transforming Juniper's infrastructure services, as CTO of Burstorm, Edward designed and developed applications to model compute and storage, datacenter and network designs while focusing on economics and systemic qualities. At companies like Sun Microsystems and Netflix, he has deployed leading edge IT Management practices and large-scale infrastructure designs to internal and external customers alike. Around the same time, he developed the Operations Management Capability Framework and Model to help benchmark IT organizational efficiencies. At Complete Genomics he was responsible for the infrastructure design and management that sequenced their first human genome. Even before ITIL became an industry standard, Edward was a thought leader in IT process management and automation tools. Sharing his knowledge and experiences is a career passion, and Edward thrives on helping start-ups develop effective roadmaps that align with the ambitions of the business while also mentoring aspiring IT executives.

Burstorm

CTO and Head of Product Development, Co-Founder

Jun 2009Sep 2017 · 8 yrs 3 mos · San Francisco Bay Area

  • Burstorm was the first company to provide CAD applications for cloud architects. Burstorm's CAD application for cloud architects was doing for IT what Synopsys and Cadence did for chip design. Rather than using "pencil, paper and PowerPoint" to design complex next generation technology infrastructure the Burstorm application allows you to use Electronic Design Automation to do so.
  • The CAD application is supported by the Burstorm analytics platform which allows architects to accurately and efficiently model, buy, sell and deploy any cloud infrastructure solution. And with any we mean private, public and hybrid infrastructures.
  • As co-founder and CTO I'm responsible for all internal and external technology aspects of the company including the development of our ground breaking "CAD for IT" application that takes Computer Aided Design of IT infrastructures to a whole new level.
  • Responsible for
  • Product management
  • Software development aspects
  • Strategic planning and execution of the product road map
  • Provide the company with the right tools and infrastructure to scale efficiently.
