  • (a) Seller Central is the personalized dashboard that 3P Sellers use to manage their business on Amazon. Built and led the UI framework to support 50K+ hits/minute with under 2.5s latency at tp50 and 125 fatals per million.
  • (b) Selling Coach Platform provided targeted advice to 3P Sellers to help them grow their business on Amazon Marketplace. 350+ models generate ASIN level recommendations related to inventory, selection, advertising and pricing. Platform scaled well in processing 100s of TBs of data, and leveraging machine learning models.
  • (c) Launched and drove adaption of our big data processing platform, a fully managed Spark solution enabling data engineers, scientists, and software developers to transform and migrate their data between sources without requiring service setup, integration code, scaling, and operational burden. It supports streaming data at 30K TPS, 10TB bundles of records stored as flat files in S3, and records stored in a one billion record Dynamo table.

  • eCommerce Platform Services (eCPS) team provided the platform for Amazon and powered every purchase, every shipment, every browse of a product, and every login. I was the Software Development Manager for three years responsible for building the core eCommerce services, especially for accurately and reliably calculating all transactional taxes such as Sales Tax and VAT for Amazon and 3P Sellers at checkout and during returns processing.
  • (a) Led the core architecture consisting tier-1 services supported by several critical services. This architecture has scaled up well in the last fifteen years with the business and currently supports tax calculations @ 9000 average TPS (transactions per second) worldwide, extremely low latency (35ms @TP50) for calculation API used at checkout, and stores the artifacts from tax calculations 700 TARs (Tax Audit Records) per second.
  • (b) Designed, experimented, and improved operational burden for the team (achieved 30% reduction in high severity tickets YoY and 18% reduction in low severity tickets YoY).
  • (c) Led initiatives to eliminate bottlenecks for expansion to new countries and product categories, by removing avoidable coupling in the architecture, accelerating migration to new services and deprecating the legacy stack.
