Hi! I’m Srishti, a Director and Animator based in London. I’ve just graduated with a masters in Animation from the Royal College of Art and I’m finding my way into the film and animation industry one step at a time. I am currently freelancing as a director, animator and visual designer - working with clients on awareness shorts, adverts and brand films. I wish to tell moving visual stories with compelling characters, through animation and film. Every day, we tell each other our own, and others' stories. I wish to tell the stories of people who don't have anyone listening, of people who've lived inspiring lives, of people I see on the train everyday, and of the little things I find beautiful. I want to build a strong network of industry professionals and create visual experiences that entertain and enlighten people.

This is an awareness film on the sanitation issues in Maharashtra, India as a part of the Towards Brown Gold project. This project was initiated and funded by the Institute of Development Studies to understand sanitation systems, and the struggles of the people most affected by it across urban areas of India. The film shows the aftermath of what would happen, if all sanitation workers just stop doing their jobs. It highlights the plight of sanitation workers, especially women and persons of lower caste, and how everyone including the government exploits and sidelines them as human beings. My main client was SOPPECOM, a non-profit organisation working in the area of Natural Resource Management (NRM) primarily in the rural areas of Maharashtra, India. This film is based on an extensive study on the sanitation systems in urban areas of India and how it affects women and persons of lower caste. I worked with a team of 2 on this project: Samiksha Vaidya (co-writer, producer), and Keerthana Puthuvaya (lead animator).
