• Part of the team for 'MetaData Server' in Information Server Tools(IPS). It is an ETL(Extract Transform and Load) tool which works as a Data Mining Tool.
• IBM Metadata Server (MDS) is a set of services and tools for managing and analyzing persistent metadata. One goal of MDS is to be the common metadata repository for the entire IBM Information Server Suite, eliminating the need for metadata import and export between our tools. MDS is also used as a metadata repository by other applications. MDS was developed within the framework of Service oriented architecture (SOA). All repository functionality is exposed as a set of services. Models are a very important concept in MDS. They are used to describe the metadata that is stored, and also allow metadata to be shared between applications. MDS uses the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) as the basis for it’s meta-model.
