About

Hello! I’m Neeraj, a B.Tech graduate in Computer Science and Engineering from NIT Nagpur and a Software Engineer at Wells Fargo. I’m a Software Engineer with experience designing and delivering production-grade microservices, authentication systems, and AI-driven customer experiences. At Wells Fargo, I’ve worked on critical workflows like fraud detection and authentication, where reliability and performance aren’t optional. I’ve taken legacy systems with multiple downstream dependencies and rebuilt them into scalable, reactive architectures using Java, Spring Boot, and reactive programming, cutting latency by ~40% and doubling throughput. I enjoy solving problems where systems are slow, tightly coupled, or hard to scale—and turning them into clean, efficient, and observable architectures. My core strengths lie in backend engineering with Java, Python, Spring Boot, Node.js, and designing REST and GraphQL APIs. I’ve built event-driven systems using Apache Kafka, worked with data stores like MongoDB and Teradata, and deployed applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift. I also use tools like Splunk for observability to ensure reliability. More recently, I’ve been exploring AI-driven systems—building solutions with LangChain, LangGraph, and Dialogflow to automate workflows and create intelligent customer experiences. What excites me most is working on high-impact systems where performance, scalability, and user experience intersect—and where I can take ownership from design to production. Right now, I’m looking to step into a Senior Software Engineer role where I can lead backend systems, drive architectural decisions, and mentor others while continuing to solve meaningful engineering problems. If you’re building something challenging and impactful, I’d love to connect—feel free to reach out at neeraj.thazhekuniyil@gmail.com.

  • During my internship at Wells Fargo, I contributed to the development of a web application designed to recommend tailored banking products to customers based on their past transactions. We implemented a clustering model to segment users and personalize recommendations effectively.
  • Additionally, the application predicted future spending patterns using a Gradient Boosting Classifier (GBC) model, enhancing customer financial insights.
  • We utilized React to create a dynamic and user-friendly interface, and Node.js for server-side operations, ensuring smooth performance.

  • During my two-month internship at a startup focused on building an e-commerce platform for uniquely crafted gift items, I initially joined as a backend developer due to my familiarity with Node.js. My role involved developing and optimizing backend services to support the platform's functionality, ensuring a smooth and scalable user experience.
  • Upon completing the backend tasks ahead of schedule, I was given the opportunity to contribute to the frontend development, addressing backlogs in the project. The team provided me with the necessary resources to quickly learn and work with Vue.js, the technology used in the frontend. This experience allowed me to expand my technical skill set and gain hands-on exposure to both backend and frontend development in a fast-paced startup environment.
