Website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/people/susitara/ See FAQs below before sending a message. My research goal is to make AI more inclusive by improving the accuracy and safety of LLMs on non-English languages. I'm excited about translating long term and cutting-edge research on data, modeling and evaluation into large-scale real-world product improvements so that AI can benefit everyone on the planet. I thrive in leading and working with diverse, interdisciplinary teams and regularly work with social scientists, linguists, designers and product groups. I was Director of the MSR India Research Fellow program from 2022-2024. The RF program is a unique opportunity for students who are considering pursing a career in research and exposes bright young minds to cutting-edge research and provides mentorship from some of the top researchers in the world. I have organized several special sessions and given many invited talks in academia and industry. My publication list can be found on my Google Scholar page. Due to the volume of email/LinkedIn messages I get, I am unable to respond to all of them. Please see below for FAQs. Internships at MSRI: The best way to apply for an internship at MSRI is through the job portal and sending an email with your CV to a researcher in the lab whose area of research most closely matches with yours. You can find out who works in your area of interest by going through the MSR India website. If you have interest and prior experience in multilingual NLP and are interested in working with me, please send me an email with your CV (prior experience required). Please note that internships are only open to current students or very recent grads. RF at MSRI: The RF position opens once a year and has a centralized hiring process. Please visit the MSRI website for more info. I do not currently have any open slots for RF positions in my group. Referral policy: I get several requests for referring people to various jobs at Microsoft. Due to this, I am unable to provide referrals unless I know you personally or have worked with you in the past. Thank you for understanding! Reference policy: I have been getting numerous requests for adding my name as a reference in the MSRI internship application. References should come from people who have worked with a candidate in the past and who know the candidate well and can vouch for their work. They do not have to be from researchers in MSRI. I hope this clears up any confusion, as I will be unable to provide references unless I have worked with you in the past.
