I am currently leading the Data and Trading domains at Bitvavo, after leading teams and projects at Trade Republic, Netflix, Airbnb, Uber, Booking.com and Source Capital, both in people management roles as well as hands on. I love applying Machine Learning, Causal Inference and Mechanism Design a variety of problem spaces (trading, content, travel data and peer-to-peer marketplaces) for companies of different sizes and stages (Trade Republic, Booking.com, Uber, Airbnb, Netflix). I have mainly worked with Python (Notebooks, scikit, metaflow), C++ (multi-threaded, parallel processing, real-time software), R (Rcpp, shiny, ggplot and data.tables), Airflow, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto, Vertica and Snowflake to access my data and I love to set up any big-data system against Vowpal Wabbit just for the laugh. In previous lifetimes I did a lot of Matlab, C, Java and even Pascal and Visual basic, but I'm trying to forget all about it.

Over the past three years at Bitvavo, I’ve had the opportunity to wear multiple hats across trading, brokerage, and infrastructure.
Most notably, I led the transition of our internal market maker into the independent trading arm of the Bitvavo Group. I also managed the evolution of the Retail Trading domain — transforming it from a simple exchange UI into a fully-fledged brokerage offering pricing, RFQ, and margin products to our customers.
