• At Hogan Lovells, I led a team of five data stewards in the Corporate & Finance department, thanks to my strong performance and expertise in the Foundation Intelligence Management system. I interpreted complex, raw data from legal teams and categorised it across practice areas including Intellectual Property, Capital Markets, M&A, and Competition law, combining legal insight with commercial acumen.
• I created detailed guides and workflows tailored to these areas, improving data onboarding processes and contributing to a smoother integration of new team members. I also facilitated team presentations on data handling and collaborated closely with leadership to streamline operational processes. My role required effective time management to meet tight deadlines, and I gained valuable experience in project management and billing within a legal setting.
• In addition to these responsibilities, I took the initiative to refer a potential client to the firm, which was acknowledged by senior leadership as a demonstration of my client-focused approach and commercial mindset.

• As part of the firm’s legal team, I worked on drafting terms for websites and constructing clauses to fit client needs. The firm’s work in
• Blockchain, DAO, NFT and Art Intellectual Property sectors caused me to explore different use cases and adapt drafting to fit the purpose. This has developed my legal drafting and writing skills which is essential in a legal role.
• I also conducted legal research for the firm in the areas of DAO and NFT’s. This caused me to broaden my legal knowledge and find
• relevant information for emerging practice areas. As a result of my research, I was able to write an article on the different types of DAO for the firm’s page.
• This role also involves working with legal and tech teams based in Hong Kong on development of the firm’s legal support software. I was exposed to legal technology and the ability to work on projects which has equipped me with project management experience and working with multidisciplinary teams to produce the best outcome. These skills are essential when managing multiple caseloads and working within diverse teams in a firm.

• This role was done as a part time contract alongside my LPC + MSc study and internship experience. Balancing demands of the course with the role has been challenging but I have been able to manage multiple tasks efficiently without missing deadlines. This has developed my time and task management skills which is integral in a high paced role.
• The main objective of the role is to form bespoke solutions to balance customer tech needs and transaction methods. This requires a high degree of interpersonal and problem solving skills which I have developed. The role also requires up to date knowledge and research on the latest consumer technology developments. It is an important quality to be up to date on new commercial developments and to continue to upskill.
• I was able to go beyond my role by conducting a presentation to the retail team on the social and business impact of Apple Stores in India. This received good responses from managers and colleagues. The confidence and ability to conduct presentations is an important skill, especially around client pitches.
• I have also gone beyond my role through writing in a monthly column on tech developments in Apple’s internal magazine which has received several positive responses from managers and colleagues nationally. Alongside conducting research into the latest tech developments, it is important for legal professionals to be able to write and publish on legal developments.
• I was also named in an internal circular for high quality interactions and referrals for business customer solutions.

• This virtual summer internship exposed me to the fundamentals of Banking and Finance Law. I acquired a basic knowledge of the law through undertaking research and reading template agreements.
• I wrote a research note for my supervising Partner on boundaries within operating under the Ordinary Course of Business when subject to Freezing orders. I was able to apply a comparative legal analysis on the topic through my knowledge on UK practice methods alongside research on Singaporean limits. This helped me to understand the varying application of laws on MNC’s and the type of advice necessary for larger commercial client issues.
• I undertook this internship virtually and was able to adapt to distance working through the use of online case databases, video conferencing software such as Teams and producing deadlines for a different timezone. This experience improved my online collaborative working skills and time and task management to keep with deadlines - which is integral in today’s distanced work culture.

• This summer internship was my first introduction to legal practice. I acquired a foundational knowledge of practice through undertaking
• research, attending client meetings and drafting legal documents.
• I was involved in insolvency proceedings to set aside/vary freezing orders placed on the client. I attended client meetings and worked on a strategy with the legal team. I was also able to draft an affidavit and witness statement and attended Singapore High Court proceedings.
• This experience gave me an insight into the life cycle of insolvency proceedings against both companies and individuals.
• I was involved in a Family Mediation dispute over ancillary matters. I undertook research into the Singaporean ancillary financial distribution model and applied it to the client’s case through attending client meetings and the support of my supervisor. I was also able to draft an affidavit supporting the client’s financial distribution model and attended a Mediation at the Singapore Family Mediation Centre. I was able to observe the work of the expert mediator and also hand wrote a verbatim draft consent order in the meeting. This experience allowed me to understand the role of lawyers in ADR mechanisms and built my client communication skills through tackling with difficult clients.
• I was also able to build team-working skills by producing work with the support of my Supervising Lawyer and paralegals. I was also able to develop legal drafting skills through multiple opportunities in drafting affidavits, representations and client care letters.
