  • Speech Compression Using ADPCM Algorithm; This project spanned for 4 months with a total team size of 4 members. The duration of this project was 4 months. I performed the roles of a Designer/Programmer and Tester using Matlab-7, Dev C++, Code Composer Studio over Pentium-IV, DSK6713 hardware.
  • The use of PCM at standard rate of 64Kbps demands a high channel bandwidth for its transmission. In certain application however channel bandwidth is at a premium, in which case there is a definite need for speech coding at low bit rates while maintaining acceptable fidelity or quality of reproduction. ADPCM allows reduction the reduction of bits per sample from 16 to 4 bits. It involves the combines adaptive quantization and predictor (IMA simplified ADPCM algorithm).
