Because I found making friends at university harder than I thought—and honestly, harder than it should be. Then, shortly after graduating, I came across a shocking statistic: 92% of university students in the UK experience loneliness (GOV.UK, 2023). Connection shouldn’t be another challenge at university. For me? Sure, my time there is over. But for that 92%? No way. And so… whoops, UNIMATE was born—and eventually became the StudyBuddy app. That’s a bit about me (basically, I’m a coder who really cares about people).
