Rajveer Rajput — Intern
I’m currently pursuing M.Tech in Irrigation Water Management at IIT Roorkee, with interests in hydrology, environmental flow assessment, and GIS-based water resources analysis. My work focuses on understanding river basin behaviour through hydrological data and modelling. For my M.Tech thesis, “Comparative Analysis of Environmental Flows in Peninsular River Basins,” I am analysing how environmental flow estimates vary across river basins and hydrological methods, and how these estimates relate to regional water requirements and policies. Earlier, during my internship at the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, I worked on analysing the relationship between Base Flow Index (BFI) and Environmental Flow Requirements (EFR) in the Mahanadi basin, which involved hydrological data analysis and environmental flow modelling. I’m particularly interested in the intersection of hydrology, GIS, and data-driven approaches for improving river basin management and sustainable water use. Beyond academics, I’m actively involved in sports, student leadership, and extracurricular activities on campus.
