• Following the departure of the co-founder and CTO, I maintained my Frontend Lead role and shared a temporary role with two of my colleagues in helping the company grow into the new stage as an "interim 3TO". I primarily aided in the handover and documentation of technology and knowledge as well as supported closer relationship with the board members and CEO.
• I left for a new, engineering-focused opportunity at Atlassian, splitting up the shared CTO role into new roles, leaving things in the capable hands of my colleagues.

• At Sharesight, I was the Lead Frontend Engineer (the first lead, alongside a Lead Backend Engineer) with both management and IC responsibilities, owning the entire frontend architecture and direction and having 5–10 reports.
• Key Highlights:
• Key role in growing our development team by 5x from 6 to 30 engineers.
• Drove the collaboration of our senior development team to build a development culture and structure with a focus on project collaboration, code review, growth, and project agility.
• Leading technical architecture in the migration of a 15 year old Rails frontend into a modern TypeScript and React web application.
• Improved the UX and Design for the entire company, defining and hiring a Head of Design role as we grew.
• Re-architected our 1.5m LOC frontend codebas, building explicit CI/CD publishing pipelines.
• Architected a rebuild of our static Ruby websites with 2,500 pages into serverless Gatsby instance.
• Hired, onboarded, mentored, and managed a more than a dozen developers across various levels and roles, growing several of them through 1-2 promotions

• Joined Sharesight as the first Frontend engineer in their 15 year old lifetime, taking on a monolithic Ruby on Rails application. Grew the codebase and company into a React TypeScript application, rebuilding parts of the application into a SPA with SSR and a focus on future extensibility, maintainability, and ability to hire frontend candidates .
• Key Highlights:
• Led the technical architecture of decoupling a 15 year old Rails application into a React application via micro-frontends and SPA architecture.
• Led and executed on projects improving the UX of onboarding and main conversion flows meeting several KPIs.

• A venture into selling green coffee directly from the farmers to roasters. I joined to assist with development of our auction platform and eventually moved into a partner role until the opportunity fizzled out.

• A two man project as a part of Project Blue Sea – a non-profit Kickstarter based around frozen sashimi fish (raising $38.6k of a $15k target). We tackled complex logistical issues importing 2200lbs of Yellowfin Tuna and innovative ways to distribute hundreds of overnight packages to our backers as cost effectively as possible without damaging the product utilizing the remnants of our "Delivered" product.

Feb 2013 – Dec 2014 · 1 yr 10 mos · San Francisco, CA

• A logistics platform under our parent company, Blue Sea Labs, aimed at solving the hurdles between selling your goods and shipping them at scale with UPS, USPS, FedEx, and various other vendors. At the time, very few companies had any logistical intelligence outside of the Amazon and Walmart, and we aimed to solve that globally. Following the exit of i love blue sea in November 2015 facing contractual hurdles and no guaranteed form of investment or revenue, we decided to halt this project.
• Here I built the majority of a large SAAS application from scratching using Laravel in PHP and Angular v1 and was used internally at i love blue sea as well as quite profitable with private clients for a few months. This was a fully PCI-compliant application built using Stripe and full integrations with nearly a dozen distribution companies.

• Based in San Francisco, I worked often as day-rate or project-based contractor for a wide array of companies, organizations, and projects in the Bay Area, remote, and abroad.
• I primarily worked in React, TypeScript, Postgres, and NodeJS with some raw HTML/CSS prototyping on ocassion.
• Key Highlights:
• Worked for several medium to large Bay Area tech companies on short-term day rate contracts to get a feel for what larger organizations I was interested in.
• Built out or architected dozens of comple Stripe and FedEx/UPS/USPS integrations, typically focused around ecommerce experiences.
• Lead engineer for a dozen small applications utilizing Angular 1 and React ≤0.15 to give a startup a proper MVP to show off to investors or clients.
• Often contracted on the entire end-to-end process from design thinking through to UI/UX implementation as well as the technical logistical needs of a product.

Aug 2011 – Nov 2014 · 3 yrs 3 mos · San Francisco, CA

• An online sustainable seafood e-commerce company enabling fishermen to ship directly to customers without all the logistical difficulties using innovative algorithms and models novel at the time—it's very hard to ship fresh fish. We worked directly with dozens of vendors to ship our products, fresh and frozen, across the country, primarily overnight.
• We were highlighted in the New York Times, live on Fox Business News, and part of the Praxis Business Accelerator.
• We sold majority of e-commerce assets in November 2014 to VitalChoice.com, now part of 1800Flowers.

May 2011 – Jun 2012 · 1 yr 1 mo · Tucson, AZ

• SPExpress is a 3PL with multiple warehouses. There I managed the helpdesk and addressed general IT issues in a fully Microsoft server architecture across multiple states while developing a fully custom SSRS platform allowing customers to manage and view their shipments remotely, live with 30-minute updates, in ways that most small 3PLs struggled with even a decade after leaving.

• Managed the IT and online presence for a small college bookstore — web development, sales, and all non-corporate IT. Went from zero online presence to $200k+ dollars in gross web sales per year. Built fairly innovative things that was novel at the time across the organization that were later picked up (and enabled by) by the corporate parent.
