Cody Rivers, CISSP — CTO
I protect organizations from cyber threats AND I protect vulnerable children through advocacy. Both require the same thing: translating complex risks into action and empowering people to create lasting change. With over 20 years of experience, I serve as Managing Director CTO at Reveal Risk, partnering with leadership teams as a Strategic Cybersecurity Advisor and Fractional CISO. My mission: bridge the gap between technical risk and business objectives so leaders can make confident decisions. WHY CYBERSECURITY? I started as a network engineer in the trenches and evolved into architecting cloud security for global environments. For the last decade, I've specialized in cyber strategy, governance, and M&A security—helping companies navigate their most vulnerable moments during acquisitions. But here's what drives me: the strongest security programs aren't built on technology alone—they're built on people. That's why I'm passionate about Human Risk Management, creating cultures where employees become your strongest defense, not your weakest link. WHY MENTORSHIP? I believe we have a responsibility to lift others as we climb. Whether I'm mentoring emerging cybersecurity professionals, developing the next generation of CISOs, or teaching executives to think like security leaders, I'm energized by watching people discover their potential. Security is a team sport, and we need more diverse voices in this field. WHY KIDS' VOICE OF INDIANA? As a girl dad and Board President of Kids' Voice of Indiana (www.kidsvoicein.org), I'm committed to ensuring every child in the foster care system has a voice and an advocate. Just like in cybersecurity, our most vulnerable need the strongest protection. This work keeps me grounded and reminds me why values-driven leadership matters—whether you're protecting data or protecting children. WHAT I BRING: M&A cyber strategy, human risk management, global security program leadership, GRC expertise (NIST CSF, SOC2, ISO 27001, CMMC, HIPAA), cloud security architecture, and executive communication that translates technical complexity into boardroom clarity. I also serve as President of the ISACA Central Indiana Chapter and as a Lay Member of the Indiana AI Task Force. Let's connect if you're passionate about building resilient organizations, developing future leaders, or creating meaningful community impact.
