• The customer advocate in me prompted me to grab an opportunity as a Product Owner. As part of team leadership group, I helped stand up a new team at my branch in 2021 & 2022. I own 3 products- 1. Hardware configuration Utility, NI’s first graphical utility on Linux desktop to manage hardware
• 2. gRPC-device, an open-source API built using gRPC framework to expand NI’s userbase to more languages & OSes
• 3. NI Offline help viewer, a more modern way of dynamically delivering documentation to our users
• I am responsible for creating user workflows, defining epics & features, influencing priorities & roadmaps, managing backlogs, manage stake holders, customer interviews, user testing etc
• In this role I typically interact regularly with developers, managers, UX designers, documentation, application & support engineers, Business units, customers etc spread across multiple geographies.

• I was responsible for the team exploring supporting Deep Learning on NI devices. This was really fun, & gave me an opportunity to learn about convolutional neural networks, explore libraries like TensorFlow, Caffe, Intel OpenVino, CUDA etc
• I also got to play around with various models & topologies & prototyped a heterogeneous way of deploying CNNs on NI’s devices that had CPUs, FPGAs (& GPUs in some ecosystems).
• I also contributed to exploring various optimum pattern matching techniques. Continued with some development of algorithms on FPGA & worked on techniques like over-clocking & scaling the algorithms to support CoaXpress speeds.
• Then I switched gears to work on an application software called Labview NXG which was built using C#. Here I worked on features to support configuration of NI hardware like cRIOs & DAQ devices using the application software. During this process, I transitioned to a more agile way of development & used modern tools like git, Azure DevOps etc. I also contributed to some of the customer facing features like shipping examples & lessons in the product.
• I helped create demos for customer facing events & also participated in them interacting with our users.

• I lead features to develop some complex image processing algorithms on FPGAs – Blob analysis, CoaXpress image acquisition, Local thresholding, Auto local thresholding & came up with a new method called Modified Sauvola thresholding. During this, I had to come up with scalable architecture & implementation for multiple FPGA families & devices with different DRAM configurations.
• I also expanded my scope to non FPGA algorithms & worked on benchmarking & supporting VP8, VP9 Codecs in the product.
• I developed a few custom vision algorithms for key customers which helped win those opportunities.

• As a software engineer, I was responsible for full stack implementing of image processing algorithms on FPGAs, for a product called Vision Development Module. I implemented algorithms (filters, morphology, analysis) to meet USB 3.0, CameraLink & GigE speeds. I predominantly used LabVIEW FPGA programming and a little bit of VHDL. This also exposed me to a wide range of NI’s hardware offering.

• As RF algorithm intern, I explored ways to optimize estimation & correction of signal impairments – Carrier Frequency Offset, Sample Clock Offset for WLAN 802.11 signals for a product called NI RFmx.
