  • Synopsis: vSTP is the Virtualized STP(router) in a SS7 network. Worked on various layers of SS7 stack.
  • Feature Development for vSTP:
  • Conceptualized, designed and implemented Reassembly and Segmentation feature which provides the functionality to perform reassemble of Segmented Messages, perform services on reassembled Messages and perform Segmentation of reassembled Messages. It also uses ACE Timer framework for timer functionality.
  • Worked on vSTP performance tuning feature, Re-Structured various layers in vSTP that enabled vSTP to increase the message per second rate from 10K TPS to 20K TPS.
  • Conceptualized, implemented SCCP Global Title Modification Feature which allows modification of all the fields (CDPA and CGPA) of SCCP layer of the Incoming MSU.
  • Conceptualized, implemented Domain Conversion (ANSI<->ITU) Feature which enables vSTP to act as a GATEWAY between two different network (ANSI and ITU).
  • Participated in peer code review process and design review process.
  • Fixed issues during Unit Testing, Field Issues and system testing.

  • Project name: Eagle
  • Organization: Aricent Group, Gurgaon, India.
  • Environment: C, C++
  • Synopsis: Eagle is an STP (Signaling Transfer Point), used in 2G/3G technology, is responsible for the transfer of SS7 messages between nodes of an SS7 network. Eagle Architecture is defined in terms of frames (Control frame and Extension Frame) and slots of each frame accommodate cards that provide functionality of the Eagle. The cards of Eagle are not frame specific, it allows customizing and defining on how the STP is configured. Configuration of STP is done with the help of commands. Have good understanding of key modules like Inter Processor Message Transport (IMT), Database Change and Display (DBCD), Frame Power Budget Alarm (FPBA).
  • IMT module is the inter card communication backbone of an Eagle. It allows cards of an Eagle to exchange information within the Eagle. DBCD module is responsible for syntactic checking, semantic checking of the commands that are required to configure the STP. FPBA module is responsible for raising alarms when the power consumption of all cards of a frame exceeds the predefined Frame Threshold Value.
  • Project name: EPAP
  • Organization: Aricent Group, Gurgaon, India.
  • Environment: C, C++
  • Synopsis: EPAP is a product that manages the subscribers’ data stored in the Data Card (SM4G
  • card) accommodated in Eagle. EPAP provides a user interface that allows customers to provision subscribers’ data (DN, IMSI, IMEI etc).
  • Developed features which are as follows:
  • 1. “Automatic DB Backup”- This feature provides a GUI that provides various configurable parameters like backup machine type, backup path, time to take the backup etc.
  • 2. “SNMP implementation in EPAP”- This feature allows EPAP to be monitored by remote machines via SNMP Protocol. Whenever any alarm is raised or cleared in EPAP, the corresponding alarm information is made available to 5 Remote machines via SNMP Protocol.
