• Airtel IQ is a CPaaS system that operates in the Indian market. I lead the Voice Core team to make the platform resilient and scalable. Scaled the system to 20x with high resilience and stability on the same infrastructure by rearchitecting the entire solution(using event-driven architecture with call stickiness) and shifting the performance left. Ensuring HA and 24*7 uptime by system design, engineering excellence, and cross-team collaboration. Introduced engineering best practices, tools and processes to ensure operational stability and observability of the system for real-time calls on a huge scale.

• Incubated and lead Airtel Teams platform, which is used for vendor onboarding in digital businesses. Lead the team to onboard AdTech and LCO businesses in the first year of operation. Built system which is modular and customisable, at the same time integrated with core ERP, billing and payment systems. Grew the team from 4 engineers to 10 engineers through hiring, training opportunities, team building and skill development. Interfaced with product, agile, and customer care teams to ship new products and new partners.

• Worked in Airtel OnlineStore platform(an incubation project) which was used for selling bundled devices(smartphones and dongles) with a postpaid plan. Lead the Backend team to build modules like catalogue, cart, order, payment, and order fulfilment. Done bunch of integrations with warehouse and delivery partners. Rearchitected the existing system to bring modularity and scale. Helped in hiring. Interfaced with product and agile teams to ship new products. System migration from a third-party core commerce engine to an in-house system helped in saving licence costs in crores. Successfully ran exclusive Iphone sales as well on this platform.

• Built a caching platform, audit framework, microservices architecture, and was a key contributor to the success of airtel.in/s/selfcare digitisation for postpaid. Worked as part of the backend team to deliver self-care digitisation. Worked on end-to-end system building, from api development to deployment and production stabilisation. The caching framework acts as a backbone to serve digital traffic on self-care websites and app platforms.

I worked on the grouping and tagging parts as well before making the data available for consumption by business API teams.

Also, conducted feature presentations or demos to stakeholders. Handled complex production issues like memory leaks and request table locks in the database.
