• Proposed and architect-ed unified content search where content can be stored as: fragments, pages and images etc, which are indexed into Solr. They are then solr queried across AEM and non-AEM services alike. Also documented the business need for the same which resulted in go ahead from the business team.
• Established initial design and implementation framework for AEM–Solr rest based integration, for indexing & deindexing and for Solr search, then implemented it as part of POC, as a production ready code. This was the basis of all classes and services that respective developers extend and implement. Created SolrConnection pool as a synchronized list to reuse one of the existing http connections to Solr instead of creating new one. Also created custom logger from map to have a uniform logging across project to have all information needed for debugging.
• Multi-collection SolrCloud: By extending AEM ootb ‘request for activation/deactivation’ workflows to add a WorkflowProcess step to make sure that as soon as a content is activated/deactivated, it is also indexed/deindexed to publishCollection of solr.
• Establish NFR benchmark from the baseline of previous reports using performance testing and application profiling. While performance test provided system data, Jprofiler provides application, jvm, object level and method and line level performance.
