I’m Ajit Kumar, founder of UpcharMitra, a DPIIT-recognised healthtech startup. I grew up seeing patients travel long distances, wait hours without certainty, and fail to access basic medicines or elder support. That led me to a simple insight: India doesn’t lack doctors or hospitals. It lacks reliable access. UpcharMitra is building a digital + assisted healthcare access system for rural and semi-urban India. We are starting with the hardest access problems: → booking appointments at offline clinics → discovering medicine availability locally → assisted care for elders who can’t self-navigate healthcare From this access layer, we are expanding into diagnostics and longitudinal health records. Our goal is to become the infrastructure layer that connects patients to healthcare services, not another telemedicine app. I build from first principles, learn from ground reality, and optimize for speed of execution over polish.
